Unnur Knudsen is a textile designer in Reykjavik. She was born in Reykjavik in 1966. She graduated from the Iceland business college in 1986. Five years later she began her studies at the Icelandic school og arts and crafts where she attended the department of textile. On her first year there she took part in the Smirnoff fashion design contest and landed in second place. As an award winner she was sent on behalf of Smirnoff-Internatinal design to St. Petersburg in Russia to take exhibtions. Unnur graduated as a textile designer in 1995. Unnur specializes in handprint on silk and cotton. She makes T-shirts, pillows, scarfs and shawls. Unnur has been one the owners of Kirsuberjatréð since 1995.
